It all started with something as simple as taking out the trash. No, really. One Sunday, I happened to be outside at the same time as my neighbor, who was on our HOA’s board of directors. More importantly, this role gave me a deep, personal understanding of the daily challenges HOAs face in maintaining compliance, fostering community harmony, and managing resources effectively.
Then came SB 323, a pivotal California law that took effect in January 2020. This legislation completely overhauled HOA election processes, introducing stricter rules on everything from candidate qualifications and voting procedures to proxies and overall election management. It was a game-changer, and it became immediately clear that HOAs needed a trusted, compliant, and efficient solution to conduct their elections that went beyond what many current providers offered. This was the spark.
